“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God [is] faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear [it].”
1 Corinthians 10:13 (KJV)
Sometimes the way of escape is to simply run away…
Other times it is just a matter of letting go of our human will (stubbornness) and listening to what God is telling us through His word.
Nobody has a new temptation. Solomon said there is nothing new under the sun. So if my temptation has been experienced by many others and they made the right choice, so can I or you.
“God is faithful…” His Word is absolute truth. That is where the escape route is written.
A couple of verses that came to mind.
1 Thessalonians 5:22 (KJV)
Abstain from all appearance of evil.
James 4:7 (KJV)
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
“Pray without ceasing.” {1 Thessalonians 5:17 KJV}
Gaining strength though our fellowship.
“That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.” {1 John 1:3 KJV}

I agree with and appreciate the thought in Escape by Emissary. Thank you. 1 Corinthians 10:13 (KJV) reminds us that we have the ability to withstand anything because GOD supports us. It seems I hear reports of suicide being on the rise today. Human frailty allows it but a steadfast Christian knows, from this verse, that GOD will not allow more than we can handle. It is not only suicide and not all suicides are included with this comment. My point being simply, again, that GOD will not allow more that we can handle so we must stand strong for HIS glory.
