“”But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.”

{Genesis 50:20 NKJV}

How do you feel about where you are, right now, in your life?

For those of you who feel pretty good about where you are…I’m so very happy for you!

However, some may be questioning why life is moving along on such a miserable path…I have asked that question many times, and more times than I should have, in this past year. Sometimes it’s what others have done or are doing to us that makes life miserable, while other times it’s of our own doing, because we are not being obedient to GOD’s plan.

Take the life of Joseph, for instance. He had some pretty awful things happen to him in his lifetime…sold into slavery, accused of being a rapist, put into prison…people were making Joseph’s life pretty dismal. BUT, in the end it all came together to save a nation. Who could have foreseen that the boy who was thrown into a pit by his brothers would one day be the ruler of Egypt, second only to Pharaoh!! (You can read the whole story beginning here)

GOD had a plan…and Joseph loved HIM enough to wait for its perfect outcome. It took many years, but the whole time GOD was putting things into place for a glorious family reunion and the saving of many lives. Are we patient enough to wait for that perfect ending ?

What about those of you, who are encumbered with physical hardships? Do you ever question why GOD has allowed this to happen to you? Do you wonder why you haven’t been healed (yet)?

Take a look at this example from the Bible:

“As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man who had been blind from birth. “Rabbi,” his disciples asked him, “why was this man born blind? Was it because of his own sins or his parents’ sins?” “It was not because of his sins or his parents’ sins,” Jesus answered. “This happened so the power of God could be seen in him.

{John 9:1-3 NLT}

GOD has a plan…and maybe what you think of as a burden, could be used to glorify our Heavenly Father. I know some who praise GOD even though their body doesn’t feel  perfect. I know some who have been healed, and give GOD all the glory for it!

But I also know some who question why healing hasn’t happened yet…and the answer is…wait ! In the example, this man had been blind from birth. He is noted as a “man” so he must have been blind for at least 18-20 years. The good news…when GOD’s plan was ready to be go into action, he was there and JESUS used his disability to show the power of GOD. In the end, the man was saved and he worshiped JESUS.

Can you wait for GOD’s perfect timing to heal you? I hope so…and in the meantime give HIM praise for allowing you to be part of HIS greater plan. And if HIS plan doesn’t include your healing…be like the Apostle Paul who had a “thorn” in his flesh…

“Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.”

So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.”

{2 Corinthians 12:8-9 NLT}

It’s not easy to wait, is it? And I want to talk about that, but for now, I simply want to encourage you to be patient…GOD has a plan…to be continued…

Gaining strength through our fellowship…

“That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.”

{1 John 1:3 KJV}
