A threefold cord…

“And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.”

{Ecclesiastes 4:12 KJV}

Can I tell you about my GOD???

Earlier, today, I wrote a post about the peace that GOD’s Spirit brings us…if we let it.

It’s the “if we let it” part that I want to tell you about now…

This morning, I got a phone call from a very dear friend. She now lives on the West Coast and I live in the South East…but we spent many years together in Illinois…since going our separate ways, we haven’t had much communication…both of us busy raising a family and having a career…so it’s been a year since I’ve heard from her…

And then today, there was her name…shining brightly on my phone screen!!!! What a blessing to hear from her!!!

She told me that she had just been driving and suddenly felt like she should call. She felt that gentle move of GOD’s Spirit…and then let herself follow Its leading…which in turn brought great joy to my day.

It’s so great to have a friend like her…but our friendship has three parts…

GOD…her…me…and that’s what makes it so special.

Our friendship is that “threefold cord” and has not been broken yet…even after more than 15 years of separation…

So the next time you feel that quiet Spirit, which GOD sometimes uses…go ahead and let it lead you…let yourself listen to HIM and be the person HE uses to bring …joy…comfort…and even peace to someone else today.
