“Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” {Ephesians 6:11 KJV}

As I was driving home last night, I saw something funny, yet thought provoking.

A cat was walking across the street and a Blue Jay was dive bombing it the whole way across!!! I’ve seen Blue Jays do this to Oscar too. Blue Jays are mean, evil birds…lol.

The bird was attacking the cat, but the cat did not even seem to notice. It just kept walking across the street, at the same leisurely pace. It didn’t even look at the bird as it attacked! It was like the cat didn’t even know it was being assaulted. The cat was confident and sure of who it was…a much stronger animal than the bird…and that made the bird’s attack meaningless.

This made me think about how satan tries attacks us and how we should be able to react when he begins to assault us. We should not even give him the pleasure of noticing what he is doing. Don’t even acknowledge his presence, but keep moving forward toward the goal that GOD has set before us.

Like the cat, we (Christians) should be confident in who we are in CHRIST. We are protected because we have on the belt of truth, the body armor of God’s righteousness, and the shoes of peace. We hold the shield of faith and the sword of the Spirit. Our head is covered with the helmet of salvation  {Ephesians 6:14-17 NLT}

GOD has given us the things we need to withstand attacks from the devil. But, like any soldier, we must put on the armor, and we must know how to use what HE gives us. That is why our fellowship is so important to me. Sharing GOD’s Word with you helps me to withstand attack…and when you share it with others, you are making yourself stronger too.

There may be times when I am attacked and I do notice, and I may even feel like I’m being beaten down…but GOD is faithful, HE will never fail, and when I have on HIS armor I will be able to …

“…withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” {Ephesians 6:13 NKJV}

Gaining strength though our fellowship.

“That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.” {1 John 1:3 KJV}
